Photobucket

Photobucket has a new rule regarding 3rd party image linking. Having read through it several times I am still not 100% sure what it means, but it could be read that they will no longer allow you to link your image from their hosting to any other site (eg here)

You can of course pay them $400 a year and then there are no restrictions. Alternatively you can use the New Image Upload Facility to attach them to your HiFi Kabin posting at no charge (although please do not link them to any other website or forum)
What is 3rd party hosting?
  • Photobucket defines 3rd party hosting as the action of embedding an image or photo onto another website.
  • For example, using the <img> tag to embed or display a JPEG image from your Photobucket account on another website such as a forum, Etsy, eBay auction listings, blog, etc. is definitively 3rd party hosting.

I read a few forums occasionally and the big problem seems to be the complication if users are required to use other formats for third party image sharing. :smt017
The answer is simple just join and post "here" Kabin has its own storage facility so direct uploading to here gets rid of " image not available " . :smt013
Even if you delete it from your device it still stays here.
But you can delete anytime if you wish. :smt045

Thanks Jim. It took a while to find a good host who would allow 'unlimited' disk space at a reasonable price before I could introduce Image Attachment, but it was worth the wait. This host is fast, excellent VFM and give support that goes far above what I have experienced with other hosting companies (including the one EMI was using many moons ago. I knew more about hosting than they did  )
