Excellent. That’s pretty much a top flight LP12 then. I assume you weren’t persuaded by the Tranquility.

Got that 18 months ago :smt023 But yes, other than the cart and Klimax Radikal its top spec. (TBH having an exposed cantilever would scare me to bits. I am clumsy enough as it is

To be honest I wasn’t convinced by the Tranquility when Peter demonstrated it to me at the Kudos day, but I could still be persuaded to buy it given the reduced bearing wear which must result. The trouble is that means packing up my LP12 and tonearm as well as a long trip up Fosse Way. Mmm...

I got one of the first ever Cirkus kits when released up here in a Glasgow shop and now seeing that it is 25years old plus the last time it was dismantled for the keel fitting the thrust plate just shows a slight discolouration on one spot " mating in " if I have to buy another one at my age then it should last until I'm pushing up daisies without any modifying or improving.
Why do people dump their bearings as they are just run in.? :smt017 :smt005
Save the money towards a better cartridge.

A couple of posts mention the Tranquility and it made me wonder whether if any have reverted to removing it?

Definitely not. I tried the deck without it and very quickly reinstalled it.

Also I find that that I am disinclined towards Tranquility-less decks generally - it seems that not having a Tranquility is a basic handicap.
Currently Cymbiosis LP12 Woodsong Wenge, Klimax Radikal/Chord Sarum T, Keel/A, Khan, Tranquility, Urika/Chord SSA, Aro, sKale, Lyra Kleos SL - Sondek owner since 1982 - the rest is Naim, Chord and Kudos 8)
