Trampolin

Post by Sammy the Strat » Tue Apr 26, 2016 8:59 pm

I've moved the Hifi onto my old Sound Org stand to space it all out and let it breathe and dress the cables better, but more importantly, I won't have to bend down to use the LP12.

It's done wonders for the KRDS, but sadly the deck is less tuneful, and now has a slight bass bloom and overall is less detailed.

I have partially cured this by fitting in an Acapela Audio Arts isolation base that my friend Jürgen made for me in Germany when he worked for them. It has given a big improvement but is still not working like the Mana Stand did.

When Peter visits Stu next to fit Stu's new cartridge I've asked him to fit a Trampolin. I'm hoping this will return the sound back to Mana SQ.

What can I expect oh chums?

Might be simpler to go for an Urika Sammy :smt037
Currently Cymbiosis LP12 Woodsong Wenge, Klimax Radikal/Chord Sarum T, Keel/A, Khan, Tranquility, Urika/Chord SSA, Aro, sKale, Lyra Kleos SL - Sondek owner since 1982 - the rest is Naim, Chord and Kudos 8)

Trampolin 2 great idea even better one with a Urika inside.
I can't overstate what a glass shelf Naim cups and balls brings to the party that'll be your deck topped and tailed with Naim.
Thanks to Stu for banging my head with that one wish I had listened earlier. xss12
Here's mine just before Keel and Krystal :smt007

Hi guys.,I've already planned with Peter for a Urika next year. In the mean time I'm hoping the Tramp will improve things.

Jim,
I plan to go a stage further. The SO stand has 4 holes, one in each corner covered with plastic caps. An M5 domed nylock nut fits inversely (upside down) perfectly into the hole. I plan to superglue with industrial loctite the nuts into the holes. Then they will become a fixed part of the stand. Next in go the Mana spikes and nuts. On goes a new piece of 10mm Float glass cut to fit the stand. Now I can tune the glass Mana style, which is something the Naim cups and balls won't do. I've no idea what it will sound like but I like the idea and I love a good project. If it doesn't work I can always place the four Naim balls I have in the nuts and put the glass back on.

Sammy,
I suppose if it only really costs some time then why not.
But. :smt018
The Naim cups and ball thing doesn't work in fours :smt017
Only three set out like fraim I have a drawing I did with the exact Naim measurements if you like.
I haven't tried four but as many people told me it was a no no.
The problem with loctite or epoxy is that they act like a damper.
It's a hobby to taste and try but in my experience. :smt015
Cheers Sammy 8) :smt023

I'm on a tramp 2 and use a wife friendly oak double width tv unit we had made. The tramps allow heavy objects to be ignored especially racks loaded with equipment. The cups and balls are another layer of icing.

From what I've heard and read Solid feet (and no base board) for ikea lack and manna

For everything else tramp or ulrika

Steve,
I would use your mana stand for the lp12 and Radikal.
Save yourself a load of messing about and money.

Having not seen Steve's room layout its hard to really comment.
On the TV rack is there a centre surround speaker?
I do know the Mana will sound better with the LP12 on top and Radikal underneath with or without a Tramp2 and messing about with a old SO rack is really a waste of time.
When one has spent thousands of squids on a multi box system you have to get setup and placement right or there is no point. :smt018

Jeez Louise Stu it was you told me to get it all off the Mana and separated, remember you muppet! LOL

Overall the SQ has improved but the turntable should be better.

I hoping the tramp will do the job.

PS can you get a date sorted with Peter for your cartridge so I can have the Tramp please. Yeah do that and stop giving me a hard time. Ha ha only love for yuh Stu!
