Probably why Linn wouldn't do the Silvers Phono - Din thing. :smt018
Jim,
That really annoyed me at the time. :smt013
I had got David Williamson to OK it and the ball was rolling until the people that build there Silvers put the mockers on it. :smt018
Two friends of mine (One in Holland and one in England) painstakingly took the time and fitted a Din plug onto there Silvers and used shrink tube to finish.
It made a big difference for the better. :smt023
Stu,
I remember that really well from the time we chatted about it you got the OK for bringing it up as a suggestion in the first place then probably due to cost or the makers couldn't be arsed people missed out.
Offering an opportunity for a premium chargefest for convenience.
If Linn had done it it would be knowhere near as expensive as they scoff the fashion aftermarket accessory gig. 8) :smt023

I think it was couldn't rather than wouldn't - as they did not have sufficient cable expertise sadly 8)
Chris,
Linn's Silvers are not made in house.
It was a wouldn't not couldn't at that time.

I l was told that Linn tried to make them but couldn't get the Silver to DIN connections to be sufficiently robust.

I took it was CJ was implying something similar.
Currently Cymbiosis LP12 Woodsong Wenge, Klimax Radikal/Chord Sarum T, Keel/A, Khan, Tranquility, Urika/Chord SSA, Aro, sKale, Lyra Kleos SL - Sondek owner since 1982 - the rest is Naim, Chord and Kudos 8)

Thats why Chord use the webbing sheath covering on there cables.
It stops them twisting out of control.

There is a youtube video made at Chord by some bloke who asks some really dum questions and in doing so gets them to spill the beans on where the cables come from. No manufactures named but its interesting what they claim to make the difference.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lA6YSGFuEI

Its all in the first 5 minutes but the whole thing is worth a watch.

Shell,
Would love to see him on BBC Watch Dog TV answering questions???
Sorry but He is talking total bollocks  :smt018
Everyone and their wife know where they buy there cables from.
BT use the same companies for the Space station and EU internet security cables.
Same cable covered in carbon fiber wrap to stop crushing is only 32 squid a meter

Great and well done for finding filmed proof of what I've always known.
The longer it runs the better for us and worse for them it gets.
He contradicts himself at every opportunity all sales rhubarb if anyone can't see what's going on they deserve to pay the prices.
It's so amateur and all barrow boy sales guff.
Even taking the rip out of the guy snidey style in the blade dem room shocking did he know he was being filmed surely not.
The only hand finishing is the heatshrink 40 mins to make Sarum Mmm :smt017
The stock room hasn't been imported yet. :smt005
