Do You Have Any Third Party Parts On Your LP12?

If you do?
What are they and why did you go down that route?

If you don't have any already ?
Would you consider adding any ?
Cartridges don't count. :smt018

No I don't. Might get the Tranquility gizmo soon if the positive reports keep on coming but since I'm here, I think it's about time you change that avatar gif thing. It's really getting on my nerve having to cope with it every time I come here ....

sKale:- Good reviews allowed me buy it 'blind' from ePay @ £50 discount from retail knowing I could pass it on at no loss if I decided not to keep it. It worked wonders on my ITTOK and even more so on my EKOS SE

Khan:- Bought 2nd hand from Dave J of this parish. Again, bought 'blind' after good reviews etc.

HoL Mat:- Bought 'sale or return' It stayed.

(assuming we are counting cartridges)
DVXX-2mkII:- Bought to replace a DV 20XII to give me more of the same (though if I were looking now I would be seriously considering a Krystal)

Tranquillity:- I don't own one yet, but as soon as I visit Brooke Park I fully expect to :smt023

Knowing that Peter has recommended/stocked the products made the decision much easier to make and far less risky. They all (IMHO) give the LP12 more of a LP12 sound :smt017

I'm open-minded to non-Linn parts and trust Peter 100% in terms of what he stocks.

My Khan went to James (thanks James) to be replaced with a Karmen. Both were significantly better for me than the stock Linn top plate, but the Karmen edged it. I also happily use a sKale, which added a level of sophistication that transcended its price. Pride of place goes to the Chris Harben toasted curly maple plinth that was a 21st birthday present to my LP12. It may not have had quite the same sonic impact as the Karmen but it's a beautiful thing to own...Which makes it difficult to contemplate changing to a Stiletto, which is clearly better from a sound point of view but trails the CH plinth aesthetically. Still thinking about that one. And yep, I'll certainly look closely at a Tranquility.

Stu, it's a Linn Solid Base like the Trampolin 2 used on the Magic LP12 but with the original small rubber feet :D

Now go change that avatar :smt030

Less than 1/2 an hour. My office is on the outskirts. Hastings is still a good place for investment when it comes to housing, St Leonards on Sea also.
