This just reinforces what I always say, "a well engineered and classic design will stand the test of time". :smt055

In this case, I mean both the vinyl record album and the LP12. :smt023

It is very nice to see the LP12 get a mention! :D
Original 1978 Fluted Afromosia LP12, Ekos 2, Lyra Kleos SL and lots of other stuff from the 70's that still work fine.

Very enthusiastic ideas on value of said deck in various forms.
Far better bargains are to be had courtesy of very competent and experienced dealers that specialise in the LP12.
Some values in the article seem to reinforce the myth that auction site prices are in any way value for money. :smt018
A professional fettler is far more on the pulse for value for money and not panic prices.
Overall it's great to keep the enthusiasm of the preferred medium in the headlight but be careful out there.
Look for recommendations from enthusiasts and you shouldn't go far wrong.
Populated regularly posted forums by the enthusists in question are more than happy to share a good guy. 8) :smt023
Klimax LP12, Linn CD, Linn Amp, Kudos Speakers.

Back in the late 80's/early 90's friends who had ditched their record decks for those shiny discs laughed at us keeping the faith with vinyl. They dumped whole record collections or left them to warp in attics. We kept telling them you could have two sources and records would always be there. At times it felt like a lost cause. I'm glad to see our faith was justified and a new generation is enjoying the wonders of sleeve notes you can read, beautifully and carefully crafted covers and the joy of analogue technology. Long may it continue.

I remember in the 80's demoing my LP12 against a friends CD player (maybe a Marantz) who was convinced that the CD would blow my LP12 out of the water (Nirvana, Valhalla, REGA R120?, Ortofon VMS20)

He left with his tail between his legs very much surprised (He still stayed with the shaving mirrors though  )

Fluted Afro LP12, Khan, KEEL, Cirkus, Tranquillity, Urika, Radikal (with Allium Skin Mods), EKOS SE/1, sKale, DVXX-2mkII
Consonance Ref 2.2 Linear (upgraded) with Marigo Lab Aida CD Mat
NACish 72, NAPish 250, Kudos Super 20's
