Indeed, there is something magical about wood! :smt023

Original 1978 Fluted Afromosia LP12, Ekos 2, Lyra Kleos SL and lots of other stuff from the 70's that still work fine.

Dan, you on form today!

As regards the plinth the web site says the base and upper part join just below the fourth flute such that any joint is invisible.... clever... but does this mean it only comes in a fluted variant I wonder?

Richard

Yes Richard it's fluted only. But I always liked the flutes and so it's like a re interpretation of classic style in a modern incarnation. I think being integrated it needs something to break up the solid look of it.

Hi Roger,

Understood and I have already contacted, and copied a link to this forum to, The Sound Org in York expressing an interest.

I really look forward to seeing and demoing one in the very near future.

All the best,

Richard

Each to their own and I have seen some great finishes.

For me I am a black on black kind of person for my Hi-Fi so these ‘luxurious’ woods never really attracted me. Now a black Stiletto, and now a Stratos, is a different story if they sound better than my 1988 black ash plinth and The Stiletto did sound mighty fine.

Can we keep it on topic please.
The thread isn't about the wood versus metal debate it was posted to make aware that there is now a sound alternative to choose from.

Someone who is a member should pop this on PFM I remember controversy that nobody believed this was coming.
Surely awareness is good al round for the hobby and thus forum discussion too. 8) :smt023

Completely agree Jim. Talking, agreeing, disagreeing etc. has got to be good. Free choice and all that. Well, obviously not free, but great price in comparison to the 'orange' based variety ............. :smt020

Clive,
No apology required. :smt009
I've never thread diverted before. :smt005
I agree with what you said but I think this choice in the market place is very welcome and has the enthusiasts better interests in the grand scale.
