Always interested in what people think. Let us know how you get on. By the way you may be suprised at the diameter of the HoL mat. But that is correct.
Yes did see diameter said 11.3, will be here in few days. My linn mat is really knackered had it fir years and years
You should also buy a new Linn mat thats much cheaper.
Otherwise how will you know if the Hole sounds any better ? or if you have wasted your money?

But if he buys a Linn Matt as well and prefers the HoL he will have wasted the money on the Linn matt, unless he could get it sale or return. He should just trust me and Mr O. :smt001

Always keep your mat in Mint condition and side to your own taste. :smt110

If he buys a HOL mat then prefers the Linn mat he will have wasted twice the money. :smt017
Perhaps a chum with a HOL mat could let him try it first but then again I don't suppose there will be as many around ( pun not intended ) I find the Linn hole very unobstructive to the sound.

If you are not sure you could always ask Brian or Trevor if they will do a SOR.

mr carlton has made a very valid point about comparing a new Linn mat with an worn out Linn mat :smt045

A couple of months ago i was shocked how much better my new Linn mat was compared to my old knackered 5 year old one

And don't forget Linn actually sell two mat options, one is a bargain 15 quid, but i chose their more expensive option which iirc is about £180 and comes with a very handy free new platter :D

Carlton.
As far as I'm concerned if the Linn mat is good enough for all the R&D that goes into a 25k deck it's good enough for me.
I don't do third party parts.
For my deck if it's not Linn it's not going in. :smt023
My mat is soon to retire after 27 years I might frame it.
I wonder what amount of cash is lying about in not being used trial and error purchases.
Dealers RAOFLTAO.
