The Secret Agent

Post by Mr Onion » Thu Jul 28, 2016 5:16 pm

The BBC drama of Joseph Conrad's novel. Toby Jones plays his part in a wonderfully understated way.

Its a slow burn rather like the way the BBC dis The Night Manager, Excellent.

Third and last part this coming Sunday, the first 2 are on the iPlayer. Check it out, and be patient

Toby Jones really is excellent isn't he. Loved him in that everything I have seen so far. Has the timing to drift between comedy and drama without seeing the lines which is what acting should be about. We have the first 2 recorded waiting for the 3rd before we start. We are well into binge viewing now. A bit like binge drinking but you don't fall over although it can make you burble and bumble a little if you do it with a 24 series. Note - we are mid series 7 currently and have a habit of getting carried away round about now in these. :D

I arrived back from holiday the night that the first part was broadcast. I saw a bit of it and it looked interesting but I couldn't sit down to watch.

I tired to watch it on the iPlayer on my Mac, a few days later but it did not grab me - so I switched off.

I will give it another go though :smt023

I won't spoil it by giving all the twists and turns of the story, but it turns and twists brilliantly.

BBC Drama at the top of its game.
