Steve McClaren

Post by dan steel » Thu Feb 04, 2016 12:24 pm

I watched the Everton v Newcastle match last night and I have to say that it was the worst Newcastle side I've seen in years. McClaren said in his post match interview the scoreline was harsh ( my arse) Everton hit the wood work 3 times and missed a few chances. The score could have been 8-0.
He seems to say this every time they get beat it was harsh Alan Shearer summed it up when he said they are going down. I can't believe McClaren is still in job a lot of managers have been sacked for less.

I've never rated McClaren as a manager or assistant.

He was a very good assistant to a great manager - last century. I think the Toon will stay up though

Shame he didn't learn anything from Sir Alex.
I would like to see the barcodes and the budgies go down. :smt023

I put a bet on last year just after the Budgies went up for them to go straight back down.
Fingers crossed they will. :smt023

Looks like Rafa Benitez will be his replacement.
Not sure he will have much to work with in the Championship..

Stu,
He has got his work cut out, I've watched Newcastle a lot this year and they are very poor. Wether that had a lot to do with McClaren I suspect so. But the Newcastle board should take a lot of the blame for appointing him in the first place. He had already been sacked by Forest his record is shite, they only got him because he was cheap 1 million a year. It's reported Benitez is getting 3 million.
