It is eternally depressing that our greatest footballing moment came before I was even born and the last showing was quite possibly the worst yet, there has been a shift in attitude toward our National team and it isn't due to lack of success. 26 years ago the country as a whole shared Gazzas tears as another yellow card saw him disqualified from a possible World Cup final place and even in defeat they came home heroes and again 6 years later after another semi final defeat to the Germans we felt emotionally connected but today we feel disconnected from the members of our National Team maybe that has had an impact.

No the greatest moment was Wembley 1968, followed by Barcelona 1999 :smt023
