This time next week England will no doubt be gripped by football - England v Italy in Menous - but by then we will be well into the tournament.

Let's talk about it 8) - and I would like some predictions/forecasts - let's start with the qualifiers from the Group stages.

Currently Cymbiosis LP12 Woodsong Wenge, Klimax Radikal/Chord Sarum T, Keel/A, Khan, Tranquility, Urika/Chord SSA, Aro, sKale, Lyra Kleos SL - Sondek owner since 1982 - the rest is Naim, Chord and Kudos 8)

Will be in Las Vegas when the USA take on Portugal in the group stage (June 22)

I'll be making sure that I am in a bar with a few beers - this will be a cracking game as it could be the group decider as to who goes through with Germany.

I fancy Argentina to lift the trophy.

Prediction Time :

Group Qualifiers

A : Brazil, Mexico
B : Spain, Netherlands
C : Colombia, Japan
D : Italy, Uruguay (Sorry)
E : Ecuador, France
F : Argentina, Nigeria
G :Germany, USA
H : Belgium, Russia

Cheers Chris

All a bit of fun to keep up the interest in the tournament.

I'll be sticking a tenner on my predictions above at the bookies on a in 'all or nothing' strategy. Who knows what the outcome will be and it'll stop me betting on any individual games.

I strongly suggest everyone else to avoid my suggestions :D

Who do you fancy as Group Qualifiers ?

England will never win all the time they play 334 or 433 always a man short.
Same reason Germany are better at penalties.
They take them from 11 meters .
England take theres from 11 yards.

I always prefer a 442 with a diamond-shaped midfield.

Can easily adapt to a 5 man defence or a 4 man attack if you have the correct players with skill and pace.

Personally, the World Cup bores me at times because a lot of the players are too familiar.

As a total curveball, I'd only allow National teams to choose native players that feature in their native leagues. It would not prevent talent from chasing money but would make them think twice about their exposure on the global stage and, importantly, their saleability.

The great thing about the older WCs and, to a degree, the recent improvement of African football was the diversity of footballing styles.

England will never win because their players are not good enough. As

Ok - rules of this World Cup thread - No 1 - RESPECT

Let's play nice - please (I will try to too). If you don't particularly like a commentator - watch another channel. If you don't like an England player - start another thread.

Let's celebarate this festival of football - win draw or slip (Sorry - it slipped in)
