Another one bites the dust: JG Windows, Newcastle

Post by Newton_John »

Very sad to hear that JG Windows the big music store in Newcastle upon Tyne has closed down.

They sold absolutely everything from records to hifi and musical instruments.

A part of north east history just died.

Damn, loved searching their stock back in the 80s, downstairs rock collection was best. Was there just last year too (live a bit away now), on ground floor but still a good selection, will miss that arcade store

Real shame to see it go, remember Callers too back in the day….

Sad too for the remaining 17 staff who are being made redundant in the run in to Christmas.

In happier times, the surviving members of the original Lindisfarne busking outside the store in Central Arcade.
