Re: LP12 set up guide by Cymbiosis
I would be very brave to try it myself.
I think Peter is worth every penny for doing it.
Still saving up for a visit to Cymbiosis for a set up.

Quality always comes at a price but doesn't have to brake the bank.
Peter will only charge for what needs doing.
I did mention this to you a couple of years ago when you said you had bought some amps from Wayne at the shop before you did your keel arm and cartridge upgrades.
If you can't get to him he might be able to fit you in when he is up the Pool doing someone else.
If he comes to you he wont just stop at servicing your LP12 He will do everything to make sure your system sounds at its best ever.
He will have the lot to bits and re-build it with the best cable dressing.
Your speakers will probably get moved also.
He won't leave until its all singing at its best.
You should give him a ring to find out your best options.
He is down here in a couple of weeks.
Three hour drive he will come through my front door take his watch wallet phone and keys bung them on the table.
While i am putting the kettle on he will have the covers off my SL2s and be setting to work with his torque wrench on my units before the water hits the Tea.
Then its a album on to see how its all sounding while we have a catch up and drink the tea.
Then he just pulls everything to bits and re-builds it.
Lorenzo Music.

I do have clients in NW England so I am out and about occasionally.
It's a blooming site closer than Chamonix, which is where I'm off to today. No ski kit, just set-up kit and a big pair of boots

Interesting comment actually Grim as the Swiss train I was on had to be replaced!
I arrived in Basel a bit late having made a couple of changes, but no bother.

Re: LP12 set up guide by Cymbiosis
Thank you Carlton, yes that's the point.... Whilst I might like to drop in, we need to look at the logistics of any such a trip to make it cost-effective for everyone as you know.Carlton the door man wrote:Ray,ray davis wrote:Will wait to hear when mr fixit is visiting Poole, think I need some bits fitted.

Poole for example is 3 1/2hr drive each way, so what I'd do is note who is in a general area requiring help/home visit, and then try to arrange several visits within the area during a trip down, maybe visiting clients in Oxford, Swindon, Andover, Salisbury, Southampton etc broadly on the way to Poole over a couple of days. The overall cost can then be divided between everyone making a visit much cheaper individually. This is exactly the same as what I do for the guys in the USA, Europe or the Far East thus making home visits a reality for them...... Ok so obviously they have to wait a while until it can be organised, but once we have viability of numbers for a trip, then as you will have seen in the past 10 years or so on the forums, I travel. - This will remain the same for the future of course.

Re: LP12 set up guide by Cymbiosis
Just a small heads-up for those setting up their own LP12s and buying bits. I just lifted this from my post in the Blue place:
Just FYI if you are the kind of person who's interested, the "Turret lock-nuts" as they are known, being supplied to retailers from HQ are no longer silver but more of a gold/bronze colour. Otherwise they appear the same. The mudguard washers now being supplied are silver rather than black and one face is more rounded than the other. They appear to be pretty consistent, flat and the same size as before.
Anyway, as I said; just FYI :
