Citeh have still got some very good players and the team seems much more effective now.
I hope the match is better than last season's game at Old Trafford which was a drab 0-0 - in a run of drab 0-0s. The season before was much better

Citeh totally outplayed manure in the 1st half and deserved their win but were much better in the 2nd.
Debrune is a class player whereas Fellaini is just a moron ! cant stand the twat.

Shit ! what the hell went wrong ?? 2-0 up and cruising with some dazzling skills from Payet and Lanzini then Watford scored and all of a sudden we looked all at sea the defence needs sorting real quick or this season will be a struggle.
Fair play to Watford though they kept believing at 2-0 down and battled well.....thoroughly deserved the win.

Great game for the neutral to watch. I enjoyed the extended highlights on sky.

Yes - I couldn't believe the turnaround in the West Ham v Watford score; they were 2-0 up when I fell asleep
I enjoyed the Manchester derby - even if it did mean getting up at 3.45 am and we lost
United were awful in the first half - apart from the first and last five minutes - and Citeh had every bit of luck going, and we were still only 1-2 down at half time when it could have been all over.
Jesse Lingard should have been off after five minutes and Henrikh Mkhitaryan was clearly unfit - he started very badly, improved a bit, but went downhill again.
Shame that we did not get the breakthrough in the second half but after Citeh changed shape to pretty much a 4-5-1 (but with a floating false 9) although they ceding more possession, we lost the impetus that Rashford had initially given as there was less space for him to exploit - and Citeh always looked dangerous on the counter attack anyway.
I was a little disappointed that we pushed Fellaini up and went route one for the last twenty minutes as (despite Scottyhammer's comments) Fellaini actually had a good-ish game up to that point, but I suppose it was Jose's method of bypassing the congested midfield.
Oh well - it's only a game and United are just 3 points off the top of the table

Re: Premier League 2016/2017 Season etc.
The noise around Guardiola is a bit premature for me. I know he has done great things but implying that he is inventing this wonderful new thing called 'passing' is becoming annoying already. Let the guy do something first and then praise him. My first impression is that he and Klopp both went to the same school of frenetic body movement judging by their touchline antics. Do they take mime classes ?Scottyhammer wrote:Citeh totally outplayed manure in the 1st half and deserved their win but were much better in the 2nd.

Man city were superb in the first half and Man U weren't. To be fair they wriggled their way back into the match but never quite managed to match them toe to toe. Man U look a much better team already this season but not there yet.

Re: Premier League 2016/2017 Season etc.
I blame the rabones. They were showboating a bit too soon (brilliant to watch mind) and tempted fate. I have only seen the highlights and difficult to see what really happened other than the manic moment with the keeper etc.Scottyhammer wrote:Shit ! what the hell went wrong ?? 2-0 up and cruising with some dazzling skills from Payet and Lanzini then Watford scored and all of a sudden we looked all at sea the defence needs sorting real quick or this season will be a struggle.

There was trouble at the ground wasn't there? What's all that about - seems odd. Long time since the 70's - is it a Hammers timewarp?

Most used phrase this season - I nominate "Costa, who might earlier have been sent off, .........."

The trouble at the new ground is that die hards will not sit down and consequently fight with the stewards when ejected nothing to do with the "bad ol days" it will get sorted pretty quick as they are banned when ejected then the owners will be very happy that the full capacity of 60,000 can be reached as its restricted to 54,000 at the moment.

I prefer to stand - need to sit down though at half time for a rest at my age

Then you would be ejected and banned for life !!
Re: Premier League 2016/2017 Season etc.
Sitting down and jumping up for a goal or miss and to give the ref abuse has always been favourite for me.
Anyone see the Notts game at the weekend?
The ref sent a player off for celebrating scoring a good goal.

Re: Premier League 2016/2017 Season etc.
My son who has never liked football played his first game today at his new grammar school.
He loved it.
So fingers crossed.
I paid £50 for his Adidas boots direct from Germany.
The last Adidas pair i bought for myself when still at school aged 15 in 1970 cost £89 (That was a lot back then) and were all leather with screw in ds.
I bought them for my second go West Ham and Arsenal trials and a game at Chelsea and 10 day tournament in Germany.
It took me months to save up for those boots.
They were wrecked after a couple of games in Germany.
We played on cinder pitches.
It was like playing on a speedway bike track.
Germans for some reason to there advantage didn't have grass back then.
They didn't learn to dive on that ff because it was bloody painful if you went over.

Yep - also the Gerd Muller boots that were like putting on carpet slippers compared to the lumps of concrete I had before them.

Screw in ds were banned at my school as they were deemed too dangerous !
if you had worn those white boots back in the day in the east end you would have been kicked off the park.

Its all about money as usual.....fans stood at Upton Park no problem but now that the owners want full capacity of 60,000 they are only allowed 54 /56,000 max for safety reasons and the two nob heads want their pound of flesh before selling up.....Wankers !

Former England Newcastle Blackburn and Southampton striker Alan ("one medal") Shearer said West Ham's defence was "a horror show".
Speaking on MOTD, he pontificated: "It was a horror show, so bad it was like watching an under-10s team. It was laughable and extraordinary. I have not seen defending like that for a long time. It was so bad it was unbelievable."
From the BBC website
