It's not the best looking cart anyway Jim. But as you say its the sound that counts. Now this is good looking cart, but alas, purely aspirational ........

If I sell both of my kidneys, I can get this Atlas SL for $12,995.00 US dollars.
Less trade in value of my Kleos SL. :smt023 Wheeee! xss29

Original 1978 Fluted Afromosia LP12, Ekos 2, Lyra Kleos SL and lots of other stuff from the 70's that still work fine.

Thanks for the reminders LD100 and Wenge1 :smt009 :smt018

Etna SL is is a big step up in cost, let alone Atlas SL (I guess that folks who like the Kleos SL really have to stick with SL versions of the higher end Lyra carts?)

I wouldn't say they "have to", just that if you have found great sound reproduction and reliability in a cartridge, why not stay with a winner. When I wear out my Kleos SL, I will replace it with another, or if funds are available, get the best that Lyra has to offer which is within my means.
I upgraded from a Lyra Argos to the Kleos SL and was ecstatic at the audible results. As long as my phono pre amp is happy with the SL version, I see (hear) no reason to change a great combination. :smt020 :smt023
