I know this is an old thread but a quick question on Kudos if I may.
Does anyone use Kudos 606s and if so how are the run? I.e. active or non active.
I am looking to run them non active and wondered if a single Linn2200 would be enough to comfortably power them. Does anyone run this setup
The rest of my my system is
Linn lp12 keel, karousel, tramp, ittok lv11, A radikal, Goldnote PH10
ADSM/3
Goldnote PA10 swapped out for Linn 2200

Welcome to the Kabin Matt.

Do you live near/can get to Leicester? Cymbiosis stock both the 606's and LINN amplification (or you could always take your amp along)

From the specifications the LINN amp is powerful enough, but I have no idea how sonically compatible they will be.

Lots of Kudos owners in here not sure how many have 606 but lots of X3s and Super 20s.
I use a Supernait 3 integrated now with my X3s and they give me plenty.
A great dealer like Cymbiosis with a very comprehensive demonstration facility could solve all your queries.

Hi guys thanks for your replies. Unfortunately I live in Devon so not very near to Cymbiosis however I did get my Kudos K1 cable from them! A trip may well be worthwhile and would be the obvious and simple answer in sorting out my dilemma over amps.

Mr Onion On a seperate note I see you use an xx2 in your linn. How do you find it, have you compared it to a Dynavector karat 17D which is in the same price bracket. The xx2 is on my list for the new year so was just wondering.

I haven't compared it to the 17, it was an upgrade from the 20X2 I had previously, so a natural progression.

Its a great cartridge, natural sounding, suits the Urika well, and it isn't too expensive when it comes to running costs.

Hi Matt and welcome to the Kabin.
Looking at your profile I can see you’re using the 10x5.
I run this cartridge on one of my LP12’s and as you probably know is quite a detailed cartridge and as a high output is very revealing,
I can say that what ever you choose the noise floor will come down dramatically, assuming your going low output as the 17D karat is exactly that and as I have this on another LP12 I can tell you that it is very nice indeed “smooth as silk”, mine is mounted on a Syrinx tonearm so should be a good match for your Ittok.
Hopefully this helps in your quest.
I also endorse Peter at Cymbiosis although it can be detrimental to your wallet.

Thanks for the replies re my side question on the dv xx2 and the 17D cartridges I am sure both would suit my needs and be a vast improvement over my 8 year old10x5 which is getting near the end of its life. I will speak with Cymbiosis and see what they say and if possible set up a demo.

Just joined, so just found your post.

Did you make any changes?

I too have the T606s and run them active with 2No. Naim NAP 250s and a SNAXO 242.

Changing to active made a significant improvement; more detail, better soundstage, more depth.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I have been away for a few months.
To solve my (self imposed) amplifier problem I ended up getting a second Goldnote PA10 and I run them in a bridged mono configuration, one amp,to one speaker giving me 300w into each speaker. I now have excellent headroom, the amps are extremely musical and controlled and the impact on the over allsound is really noticeable in a very goodmway. Morem is more
The Goldnotes are quite warm in their sound and match the detail from my LP12 and ADSM/3 into my Kudos 606s to my ears perfectly.

Welcome to the forum. I don’t know about your amp but, I use the Kudos Titan 606 in a Naim active system with a SNAXO 242 (T606) into 2x NAP 250 and it works well. There was a big improvement going from passive to active.

Kudos specs require an amp capable of 25-250W into 8ohm to drive them, so that covers a lot of amps.

I am in the process of reviewing my system and am considering the Linn Selekt Edition DSM Hub with Utopik power supply and two Stereo Power Amps with Organik DACs to maintain the active side. This will be a single box system which has 50W into 8ohm, so again meets the specs.

I spoke to Kudos who advised that this would work well with the 606s. Indeed, if you you at their website, the information guide for a Linn active system shows, the Selekt into the speakers.
