John and Yoko: Above Us Only Sky

Post by FangfossFlyer »

John and Yoko: Above Us Only Sky

Saturday 24th November, 8.30pm, Channel 4

As advertised:

Christmas comes early with director Michael Epstein’s intimate account of the making of John Lennon’s landmark 1971 album Imagine. How has this superb footage of the former Beatle and his wife Yoko Ono, captured at their home- dio, remained unseen for almost 50 years? It’s mesmerising to watch as George Harrison and the band bring to life songs that are already fully formed in Lennon’s mind and hear him modestly admit: “I don’t know whether it’s any good.” Mike Bradley

Just watched it and in many ways found it beautiful and insightful into Imagine and their lives but ultimately very sad that John is no longer here.
