Ok I'll play.

My son chose last night and had us watching Captain America on Blu Ray. I don't mind some of those superhero movies, the Batman ones are great and some of the iron Man ones are good fun*. But this? May I politely suggest it be left for 14 year old boys? Pile of old carp if you ask me.

* Possibly because of the occasional daydreaming about some conscious coupling with the lovely Gwyn.
I guess my inner 14yo is still there somewhere :mrg:

'Despicable Me 2' at least 10 times with Ella over the last couple of weeks. Thankfully it is fantastic, along with 'The Godfather II' one of the very few sequels that is better than the original.

Even if you don't have children, treat yourself to watching this, it is just brilliant. As Mark Kermode said, this is really the Minions movie, they are just brilliant, whether yellow or purple.

......blaaahh!

Debs,
Glad you enjoyed it.
Its a lovely film.
Wonderful story,A first of its kind.
Leo's performance is still one of his best ever imo.
The mother had never acted before in her life and got the part because of her size.
She put in a great performance also was up for a few awards.
Infact the whole cast were great.

On Freeview Film4 channel last night :D

The Keep [1983]

A Weird WWII film with a blend mystery, horror, and local supernatural for local peaple.
This may have been an edited and watered down version, the scariest thing here is her hidious 1980s big-hair do xss25
The accompanying music by Tangerine Dream is totally out at odds with the 1941 period fashion but adds to the smoky peculiarity and creepy atmosphere.
A crap film that for some reason is still unavailable on DVD [only pre-owned and laughed at VHS] but really worth watching when it appears on Freeview :smt023

An early Michael Mann film, who went on to make 'Miami Vice' as well as films such as 'Heat'. It is interesting to see his style of film making in an early developmental stage, but it certainly isn't a polished product.

He had used Tangerine Dream for his previous film 'Thief' (which has other titles too), and they were very disappointed to not get the soundtrack for Miami Vice. I do agree that the music is eerie but doesn't fit the film. I tend to find that with a lot of their soundtracks, much as like the band.

Watched this British gangster classic last night.

It never fails to make me laugh.
It has the best collection of comedy one liners of any film ever made before or since.
It also did wonders for Image sales that year.
You can buy it now for 8p.

A Hard Days Night - The Beatles on BBC4 last night.
A mad moment in time by the Fab 4. Brilliantly directed by Richard Lester. Great music! Great one liners! Lousy acting.
Love it. :smt023
