I’ll have to check with the boss to see if I can get a pass out for that date.

Surely the 808s warrant three NAP500s!

Get Yourself A Free Linn Karousel
Bearing Upgrade

bearing.jpg

Thought you’d missed out on getting a free Karousel Bearing
upgrade for your Linn Sondek Lp12?

Well think again, as Cymbiosis is re-introducing the offer for a second very limited run.
This means that if you spend £3000.00 on any Linn products, Peter will fit a Karousel to your LP12 completely free of charge!

This offer will only be available from now until October 24th 2020 so don’t hesitate in placing your order. We wouldn’t want you to miss out again.

If you haven’t had a chance to hear the difference this upgrade makes, then why not book a demonstration on one of our two Linn LP12 Klinik 1-2-1 days.

You will need to book a demonstration in advance, when you will be able to book a personal one hour slot, which will be limited to two people per session. We are obviously making these arrangements due to the current Covid-19 situation in order to minimise any risk to both customers and staff.

The two days are Friday 9th October 2020 and Saturday 10th October 2020.

All appointments must be made on the Linn website Events Page, which can be accessed from the links below…

https://www.linn.co.uk/events/53fae8db- ... 53f10716fb

https://www.linn.co.uk/events/ee798eb8- ... d36bece52f

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this offer or would like to place your order now.

Do note though, that if you would like to attend the Klinik, you must book on the Linn website as detailed above.

Is this intended as a ‘sticky thread’ or is it a setting that I have inadvertently made as it always appears at the top of my listing?

Just wondering as I am quite happy to read about what Cymbiosis and other retailers are up to especially in these days.

Cymbiosis is delighted to announce that we are now stockists of Vertere Record Players with the MG-1 and DG-1 on permanent demonstration.

Vertere Record PlayerA Vertere Record Player is uniquely designed and engineered to the highest standards, enabling you to enjoy the best possible musical experience.

At Vertere, the foundation for their Record Player designs is a full understanding of the recording, cutting and vinyl pressing process. This, plus the advantage of having created the Reference Tonearm, placed them in a unique position to develop their high-end record players.

Vertere look at it this way: the best audio equipment shouldn’t add anything to the original recording. Rather it should affect it as little as possible; bringing the listener ever closer to what the artist, producer and mastering engineer wanted you to hear.

Get Active With Exposure

Exposure 5010 AmplifiersIn these days of long waits for products to arrive, we are pleased to say that we now have the new Exposure 5010 Series of amplification on demonstration, which consists of the 5010 Pre-amplifier and four 5010 Mono Power Amplifiers.

But not only that, we also have the Exposure VXN active crossovers available for anyone looking to take that next step to a fully active system. It has often been said that once you’ve had an active system, you won’t go back to a passive one and listening to the full Exposure active system in our demonstration room through Kudos loudspeakers, it’s easy to hear why.

Russell-K-018_mod-1536x1024.jpg

Russell K loudspeakers aim to reproduce sound as realistically as possible. A violin should sound like a violin, a voice like a voice – whilst at the same time conveying the emotion the musicians put into the recordings.

Designer Russell Kauffman has taken a fresh look at all aspects of loudspeaker design including cabinet agility, drive unit loading, internal damping and crossover tuning.

The cabinet is a source of much colouration due to stored energy. Several years ago, the BBC conducted research into cabinet design and found that rigid heavy enclosures coloured the sound making the spoken word sound unnatural. The BBC solution was to use thin walls with heavy bitumen pads attached for damping. Russell K’s own research has found that the heavily damped thin wall cabinet works well for the midrange but too much cabinet flex softens the bass response. Our solution is to keep the cabinet walls thin and to use internal bracing shelves to control cabinet flex. The Red series light cabinet vibrates when the drive units are playing but stops quickly when the drive units stop ensuring near-perfect sound reproduction.

Naim Audio launched in 1973 with a simple aim: to experience music replayed in its truest and purest possible form. That meant pushing the boundaries of what is viable, applying an obsessive attention to detail in the pursuit of musical authenticity.

Half a century on, their end goal still starts with the music that moves us; an unwavering line from the first Naim products to this latest New Classic range – exceptional hi-fi separates that seamlessly combine to create the music system you have always wanted.

New Classic products feature cutting-edge innovation, are expertly engineered and brimming with new technology – all in service of the sound. Everything Naim do, each design decision they make, is about how they can create a deeper emotional connection to the music we love.

Designed and engineered in England, the New Classic range is crafted with care and built to last. Sophisticated yet simple to use, these timeless products aim to bring you years of listening pleasure.

Whether you have known Naim Audio for 50 years, five minutes or anything in between, we welcome you to the next milestone in our – and your – musical journey.

The NSC 222 is a feature-packed streaming pre-amplifier that keeps things simple without compromising on musical quality. Precision engineered, this new design features a world of music and radio streaming, alongside vinyl and headphone support – plus a full-spec analogue pre-amplifier.

In production since 1975, the NAP 250 power amplifier has gained iconic status. This new sixth-generation model delivers more power than ever before; state of the art engineering provides unrivalled performance, greater system-matching and flexibility.

Take musical performance to the next level with this instant upgrade for new Naim 200 sources and pre-amplifiers, including the NSC 222 streaming pre-amplifier. It disables their internal power supply – immediately reducing the noise floor further still – and provides a superior transformer and cleaner power.

Naim 200 Series Demonstration Day

The arrival of the new Naim 200 Series products has generated a lot of interest and curiosity. Here at Cymbiosis, we have received our demonstration units, the NSC 222 streamer/preamplifier, the NAP 250 power amplifier and the NPX 300 power supply and straight out of the box they sounded great. However, in the great Naim tradition, we have been running them in since and they are now sounding absolutely superb.

We therefore feel happy now to arrange a demonstration day, in order that anyone can come along to see and hear for themselves what all the fuss is all about.

We are delighted that Mark Raggett and Gareth Thomas from Naim will be here to explain and demonstrate the system and answer any questions you may have.

This day will be Tuesday March 14th and the plan is to run separate sessions during the day at 10.00am, 12.00pm, 2.00pm and 4.00pm. In order to make this a comfortable experience for everyone, we will be limiting numbers for each slot and would therefore be grateful if you could contact us beforehand to book a place for your preferred time.

Please feel free to call us on 01664 420171 to book your time or ask for further details.

We look forward to seeing you here for this exciting event.

I missed a similar event at The Sound Org a few weeks ago but by all accounts it was well worth going and I imagine it will be well worth going to the event at Cymbiosis if you have an interest.

Have fun!

As many of you may be aware we were delighted to hold a special demonstration day of the new Naim 200 Series products on March 14th 2023.

A number of sessions were held throughout the day in order to ensure a comfortable listening experience for everyone who attended, and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank those who came along. We know from all the positive comments that everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and were all suitably impressed with the performance of the new range.

Naim 200 Series Streamer/AmplificationIt was with great pleasure that we were able to welcome Mark Raggett from Naim, who valiantly managed to carry out each presentation and answer all the questions put to him.

He started by explaining the history behind the evolution of the Naim Classic Series from its beginning to this latest version and how it takes the brand forward. He firstly introduced the NSC 222 Streamer/Preamplifier in conjunction with latest version of the infamous NAP 250 Power Amplifier and demonstrated its ability to play a variety of interesting and involving music.

The next step was to show the logical upgrade path by adding the NPX 300 Power Supply, which is of course the classic Naim upgrade path, and we think no-one was left in any doubt as to the validity of using this route to a better listening experience.

The speakers we used for this occasion were a recent addition to the Cymbiosis range, the Russell K Red 120, which did a magnificent job of presenting just what the Naim 200 Series is capable of.

Thanks to everyone who came and especially to Mark for his time, insights and patience throughout the day.

For anyone who was unable to make it, we would be delighted to book a personal demonstration, which can be done by contacting us here enquiries@cymbiosis.com

Valhalla Electronics LP12 Motor Controllers

Zeus-Top-View_rotated-512x640.jpg

Peter is pleased to announce that Cymbiosis is now supplying and fitting the Valhalla Electronics range of motor controllers for the Linn Sondek LP12 turntable.

The Linn LP12 and Valhalla controllers are excellent but they can be substantially improved upon. Accurate, stable speed control is essential for extracting the best out of the vinyl format – without getting that right we are building our hi-fi listening pleasure on shaky foundations.

Wear of the belt, bearing and stylus drag also have a big impact on speed stability and most Valhalla boards and Premotec/Linn motor combinations actually run slightly off speed from the start and unless you resort to mechanical adjustment there is no way to correct this easily and certainly not frequently as the mechanical and electrical components tolerances drift.

Enter the Zeus controller! The Zeus uses a speed sensor to detect the platter rotation speed and correct the rotation to achieve stunning accuracy down to 0.001Hz. this results in speed stability typically to three decimal places. Variations of belt, bearing, motor, vinyl condition and stylus drag are accounted for every two seconds. The improvement in pitch, rhythm and overall timbre are astounding. Available as internal or external versions.

To celebrate their 50th anniversary (1973 – 2023) and all these years of shared passion for sound, Naim pay homage to their iconic integrated amplifier: NAIT 1.
Made in England, NAIT 50 is presented in a limited-edition of 1973 pieces.

NAIT 50 is the worthy successor of NAIT 1, Naim’s integrated amplifier released in 1983.

Naim NAIT 50 AmplifierEvery part of the NAIT 50 has been redesigned. It is a ‘big box’ audiophile Naim integrated in a small box. Some of the new features on this anniversary edition include the new discrete transistor headphone amplifier found in the New Classic series, so you can enjoy all types of listening. Behind its sleek design, NAIT 50 also delivers top-notch sound quality.

25W of power per channel with peaks of 225W, three analogue inputs, including a discrete transistor MM phono stage: NAIT 50 combines power, performance, and versatility. It reproduces the most exacting dynamics with all the confidence and authority we have come to expect from a Naim amplifier. It can be linked with all loudspeaker types, as well as a streamer, for the ultimate hi-fi system.

The NAIT 50 is on demonstration now at Cymbiosis so please contact us to book your demonstration and to check the current availability of this limited-edition amplifier..

UPDATE – we currently have limited stock of the Nait 50 left on a first come, first served basis.
