Call me a sad git (SHUT UP CJ, No one asked you) but I like the satin finish my Outer Platter has developed.

I went into Grahams of Islington to listen to a REGA 2, intended to probably walk out with a REGA 3 and bought a LP12. The rest (as they say) is history.

Happy birthday to James's hinges and outer platter!

My second LP12 came from Grahams in 1994ish. I took my first in for some TLC, maybe it was a Cirkus bearing. They (I think it was a guy called Ray) told me that the plinth had been upgraded with reinforcement in the corners and I decided to trade in my first one for an all new machine, which meant that not only did I get a new plinth and bearing, but also a new clear lid to replace the rather dated looking smoked black one, stronger hinges etc. The only thing I retained was the old Valhalla board. Not a bad upgrade for £250 or so at the time.

The only parts I have remaining from LP12 no. 2 are the lid, hinges, bearing and outer platter. When I eventually do something about the cartridge I reckon I'll get the bearing changed and that one will see me out!
