My dealer has been in touch with Linn and a plan has been put in place to remedy the issue.
Richard
Great news hope it gets sorted for you.
Might have been as simple as a slightly dry motor bearing.
The old AC motors use to make some noise and we’re sorted with a tiny drop of light oil dripped down the spindle shaft when turning.
Never heard it happening with the new DC motors but the principle is the same.

You’ve forgotten my experience when I initially upgraded from Akurate to Klimax Radikal. Search for topic ‘A Radikal Upgrade’ if you wish to be reminded of it. Of course, it was all sorted by Peter. I seem to recall that it was a motor assembly issue, which Linn didn’t believe until Peter sent my motor back. Fortunately, my Radikal II motor is silent.

Ah yes Clive.
I remember now I hope he gets the same level of dealer support.

No worries about dealer support from me as they have looked after me for 30 years now, always been excellent and always prepared to go the extra mile if needed!

Did you try a drop of oil.
One drop of light oil from a needle dropper on the top bearing at the bottom of the centre shaft.

Quick update: my dealer has a replacement motor from Linn and will be over to fit it the week after next to instal it (I’m busy until then).
Will report back when the job is done.
Richard
p.s. played the deck a lot over the last couple of weeks and still remains noisy when you listen very very closely esp. with ear in contact with the plinth. Otherwise fine.

My dealer has just been over today and fitted a new replacement Linn motor and all I can say is…… wow!!!!!
Believe it or not…. The system just sounds even better than it did before and whilst it was good with the previous ‘new’ motor it is just so much more now. It’s got its mojo back!!!!!

That's great news. Karousel and Rad II together really ( ) elevate the performance. Enjoy!
