Original ultra thin black stuff via the Charity Shop
I reckon thin black stuff sounds better, or at least no worse, than 180g black stuff. Controversial!
In my experience I tend to agree with you. Probably the main (only) reason that the newer thicker vinyl can sound better is that its not worn out yet

I bought these two gems last week and have hardly been off since. Both remastered and both remastered well. They have both been expanded featuring outtakes, demo's and one (Dixie Chicken) has a raw live set from 1973. I call it raw as it’s a loose set not the tight band that I had the privilege of seeing a few times. Not cheap downloads so god knows how much they would be on vinyl but as a big Feat fan it was a must after a test drive from Qobuz. I just hope that The Last Record Album gets the same treatment.
