Time to think of which 5 albums we have enjoyed the most during this month!
The voting deadline is:
Midnight Thursday 31st August
If you are a first time voter in the KAOTM here are a few handy tips...
You may pick 5 albums of your choice which either you, or someone else has posted on this months "What are you listening to now" topic.
We all have 5 votes each, assigned a points value from your chosen positions of 1st to 5th.
You are eligible to vote if you have more than 10 posts.
The Voting form will arrive in your inbox on the last week of each month.
POINTS VALUE ALLOCATION
10... your first and best choice
9.... your second choice
8.... your third choice
7.... your fourth choice
6.... your fifth choice
The objective of the points structure is to assess the greater weight of feeling and strength of all Kabin members who contribute votes,
to find what has been the most favourable [and best] album for each month of the year.
Have fun, enjoy, and may the best album win!

293 members and six voters.
We don’t bite and think we’re quite a chummy lot.
I just don’t get why there is so little participation this is a very friendly no big nonsense source of much experience and practical information.
Maybe we’re too nice.
No trolling and abuse or outrageous arguments etc but hey it’s supposed to be a leisure pastime and hobby not a pub car park.
Let’s face it some of us have been in this game for many years.
Turntable - Linn LP12, Karousel, Keel, Ekos SE/1, Kandid, K-Radikal 2, Urika.
Amplifier - Naim Supernait 3
CD Player - Naim CD5si
Speakers - Kudos X3
Cables- Kudos KS-1 Speaker Cable, Linn Silver Interconnects
Support - Target TT4.
I don't know if this is acceptable to the Forum Owner or even technically feasible but perhaps an automated email out to each member at the end of every month would prompt people to vote?

Already does this with the voting form .

You get a Private Message Notification Email then regular reminders on the music section.
Unfortunately they have to look at the forum to see them.
If they don’t participate then they miss out.
It’s a tricky and frustrating one.

One issue which might deter participation could be the requirement to choose your album of the month only from those posted on here. I do find it a bit of a slog at the end of each month going through all the pages of the thread to remind myself of what I and others have been listening to.I also post on another forum which has a simpler image posting process and I frequently forget to post here too.
Regarding the posting process itself, I often fail to get the ‘cursor’ to land in the middle of the square brackets ][, instead it often lands somewhere in the letters ‘img’ and I end up typing the whole thing . This might also be a deterrent as, indeed, could the requirement for posting discrete photographs on a remote server.
I do agree that posting remote images can be a problem (plus there is of course the potential for that remote server to go down or delete the image you have linked)
That is why I have activated the image attachment facility which stores images on our own server. see Rules#image for more information
