Annie Davies
I think only Jim may relate to this, just read that she has passed on. You may ask who was she? She worked in probe in Liverpool and I know of her as I was in there once when she and Burnsy were having one hell of an argument of an album she had put on. In those days they were just "shop assistants" and you would wait for her because you would get nothing but stick from Burnsy if he thought you were "buying shit".

Re: Annie Davies
OMG Annie was a legend and I’m totally shocked. What a person she was and very knowledgeable on the music scene and she put me on to many albums. I talked to her many times as Probe and Penny Lane Records where my go to shops in the Liverpool Centre, it was Annie that got me into Paul Kelly and The Triffids. I must have bought the right albums in Probe as Pete never gave me any grief, although I did hear him telling a customer once that the album he was buying was a “Effing bag of sh**e” I was laughing my head off hiding behind the record racks.
RIP Annie

Re: Annie Davies
I forgot she worked in Penny Lane. I used to go over a lot until Penny Lane opened a shop here so I stopped going as there was no need. A lad with an Afro hair style moved over when it opened. I can’t remember how but they managed to get me a bootleg of Springsteen’s San Francisco show which became famous as it had Santa’s coming to town on it.Dan Steel wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 6:35 pm OMG Annie was a legend and I’m totally shocked. Re: Annie Davies
Reading now that Geoff Davies, Annie's former partner has also died, so soon after Annie. Sad part of Liverpool's music scene gone. RIP.
