Xmas Expectations

Post by Dan Steel »

Is anyone expecting something nice for crimbo ?
I don’t expect anything so I’m never disappointed when nothing arrives. My daughter, Nick and the granddaughters are all sorted so that’s all that matters to me. Gave the window cleaner a nice tip this morning, brought a few bags of food to the food bank yesterday and donated a few bob to the homeless shelter. That will do me for this year, just looking forward now to watching the kids ripping their presents open and be leaving a complete mess everywhere, enjoying my Xmas dinner and sleeping it off later. 8)

Since it turned out so well, I'm thinking about a repeat of my Thanksgiving dinner for Christmas dinner...I ate this turkey bird myself over the span of four days. :smt110

Certainly can't forget the mashed potatoes...I use power tools when ever possible when cooking...I need to pace myself so I have the energy to eat after cooking everything :smt023

Original 1978 Fluted Afromosia LP12, Ekos 2, Lyra Kleos SL and lots of other stuff from the 70's that still work fine.

Quite one for us, both daughters going to respective in-laws. So see the kids Xmas morning and that’s it. Which means we can buy an expensive bottle of wine that we’ll appreciate and watch or listen to what ever we want.
One thing I do miss over Christmas now is the music mags, NME and Melody Maker Christmas editions would be one of the Christmas highlights, that and the radio times. Last month on the 10th of November I got Mojo with the years best of list, not the same reading it mid November. The other thing I miss was getting a couple of albums for Christmas and playing them before going to the pub pre lunch.
What ever I hope you all have a good one.
PS Come on Jim cheer up, Everton playing well at the moment. Although surprised when Haaland shouted at the ref last week that Everton didn’t get a five point penalty :D

Miss the music rags they were a must every week. Different rules for the SLY 6 Arteta got nothing after his outburst a few weeks back, Dyche would have got a 3 match ban 8)
