ProAC speakers?

I read a long thread on another forum: one of the main members (very experienced big budget audiophile) moved from the Kudos Titan range to high end ProAC speakers. Since then I have stumbled on other forum threads that mention ProACs. I understand the main guy sadly passed away. But some of the posts were VERY high on ProAc speakers. I have never head them.

Just wondering if any Linn fans have tried these speakers before? They have a wide price range. The K6 Signatures are supposed to be quite something...

They are not integrated into the Exakt system. Some models, not all of them, are integrated into the Space Optimization system.

These speakers might work best with the Linn 500 and new 800 series of amps...

Heard ProAC speakers I thought were wonderful and others I wasn’t so keen on. When choosing speakers I auditioned ProAc, but settled on Spendor D9s to replace beloved Maggies, which were deemed domestically unacceptable.

I’ve been very curious about ProAc as well but a lot of the owners talk about how well Proacs pair with tube amps (complete no for us)

There are few people using Linn Akurate amps with Proacs and have been very very happy. A very dear friend of mine who visits all the big shows told me that a k6 signature would sound way better than the kudos 707. Maybe even the 808.

We’ve moved from an exakt integrated system to an older passive system. I almost bought a used pair of ProAc D2’s last month to give them a try with our Lejonklou amp. On the Lejonklou forum someone mentioned a different brand which I also luckily found at a good deal and they are also large bookshelves (18” tall) and should be here early June. I bought them blind so let’s see how they work out.

Aesthetically I find the d48rs very beautiful and found a nice video showing the audio differences if you’re interested.

One of the serious audiophile guys on the Naim forum upgraded to the K6 Signatures from the Kudos 808 and sounded very pleased…
