Re: Linn speaker development
Hi All
Found my way here (eventually!) from the Wam.
I am intrigued by the 150’s. I’m currently running the original Selekt hub through an Exaktbox-I to M140’s on the upgraded bases.
It’s a great system but IMV lacks bottom end. You can hear the bass but certainly can’t feel it unless listening at unpleasantly high volume.
Do you think the 150’s would be a worthwhile upgrade - and is it ok to run only six channels from 8 on the Exaktbox if I do?

Yes and yes. 150s are rated down to 38Hz cf 55Hz for the 140s. I run only 4 channels of my Exaktbox10. There will be filters etc. for your Exaktbox running 150s.Kiwimac wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:45 am Hi All

BTW, do you use Space Optimisation? If you do, have you tried moving the Preference slider up a bit? Could release a bit more bass.

Re: Linn speaker development
Is your original Selekt Dynamik or Utopik? If Dynamik, you know what to do. Also, the next wave of Utopik upgrades should be out soon (November?). So the Exaktbox-I could get the treatment. I know, not as exciting as new speakers, but I would think more impactful for less money. I've found the source to be the source of bass as well.
Linn Klimax LP12, Linn NG Klimax DSM hub (Utopik), Linn 360s

Dynamik. In both boxes. And Katalyst in the Exaktbox.akamatsu wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:11 pm Is your original Selekt Dynamik or Utopik? If Dynamik, you know what to do. Re: Linn speaker development
My dealer suggested adding a sub woofer rather than the new speakers - although none of the speakers are yet in the country so he admits he’s not heard them yet.
