Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he meant the 360s are so good there's no need to see a band live. They turn recorded music into a live gig in your home.

Listening last night, I'm still reluctant to touch anything in the way of speaker position. I'm thinking the speakers are a little too close to the front wall at 22 cm. Perhaps a couple centimeters out might help. I'll refine SO with wall, ceiling, and floor features next. It's sometimes tempting to hurry things. But a slow methodical approach is best I think based on past experience.

22 cm isn't really much, I would definitely experiment further out. Maybe you won't need SO...

That is awesome news! I guess that custom finish on mine really did delay things, a lot!

Linn recommend a minimum of 23 cm for some of their speakers. But no recommendation for the 360s. Keeping the front plane of the 360s the same as was for the Akubariks has them land at 22 cm. I'll move them out a cm or two and see what happens. In the past, I've had better results with "speakers in ideal" in SO.

I would move them out in steps of 5 cm, but only as long as it gets better. As soon as it gets worse, move back to the previous position and then try moving out in smaller steps, like 2 cm. Continue this until you have narrowed it down to 1-2 mm.
Then the same for the distance between them and finally toe-in.

Thanks for this. Will give it a go. I'm not applying any toe-in, as I didn't with the Akubariks. I don't want the treble to be any brighter, and the dispersion of the tweeter is quite as advertised. But I may also give it a try as it might affect the imaging?

I initially had the Akubariks toed-in. I then removed it in order to tame the treble, which was a bit too harsh.

The dispersion characteristics of the 360s should be such that they don’t require toe-in.

I assume you haven‘t noticed a mysterious ‚clicking‘ when the speakers are warming up or cooling down?
My 350s were exchanged twice and still one has a slight version of this ‚clicking‘ problem. And even though I got used to it over the years I‘m looking forward to a ‚click-free‘ zone :D
No clicks at all over here.

Where are you measuring the 22cm from/to? Normally speaker measurements are from wall to front face. I haven't checked the specs but I would have thought the speakers themselves are more than 22cm deep?

Measured from the back corner. This is the point from which to measure distances with the 360s. Height is measured from the bottom of the 20kg base. The speakers are definitely deeper than 22cm, but they are only 2 cm deeper than the Akubariks, not counting the base.

I probably wouldn't apply toe-in, as many have said. I had 2 mm toe-in for my Akubariks for years, until I tried no toe-in again and the sound just "clicked".

What's your current streaming to vinyl percentage with the 360s? Did streaming time go up or down versus the Akubariks?

I'm DSing more now compared to with the Akubariks. I'm still spinning LPs in the evenings. I'm just DSing more during the day. Both formats are so enjoyable.

I'm here. I had come down with a bad case of Olympic fever. Lasted about two weeks.

I'm still stunned and rather speechless about what I'm hearing at home. Every album I play is a new experience. Both streaming and LPs are fantastic.

I'm looking forward to your impressions, coming from 350s. I have to say that as good as the Akubariks are, the 360s are a huge step up.

It's hard for me to collect my thoughts and write a cohesive review. Perhaps I'll just post random observations and experiences with the system.

Woohoo! :D

Looking awesome!

Perhaps we can share notes on speaker locations. I haven't moved mine since initial positioning since it sounds so amazingly good. But I intend to move them out from the front wall. I see yours are pretty far out.

Congratulations! Our systems are practically identical. You have timetables, and I have AudioTech and NOKTable.

What I find interesting is that Baba Yaga and I both have our components on their own stands in the same positions. This happened by coincidence. In my case, I want the LP12 to be furthest from the speakers. The Radikal and DSM fell into place after that.

They look stunning @Baba Yaga. Lovely finish.

Just out of interest, is there a minimum room size for such speakers? I imagine even if my room could allow for better positioning, 4m x 4.5m is probably too small!
