Linn 242's Mk1 or Mk2 ?

So Im advertsing my 242's for sale but being asked of they are Mk1 or Mk2 and whether they have the upgraded stands? Google search is not being helpfull..... is there anyone on here that can explain the difference.

This is a picture of MK2.
Email the serial number to linn support at helpline@linn.co.uk and they can tell you whether they are mk1 or mk2.

As for the stands I understand, from distant memory, that the Mk1 stands are in two pieces (the front legs are separate to the back legs) whereas the Mk2 stands are solid one piece items like those in the photo above.

There not mine I just posted the picture to help identify MK1 or MK2.
I’d be scared of a mark on those. :shock:

I do not think you are off-topic. Who know if the glossy finish Is one of the features for distingushes MKI from MKII. I had 212 in walnut and my friend 242 in black both MKI but item were not glossy.
But to think well is strange that Linn felt the need to make a 2nd. version about those loudspeakers, generally they do not make a MKII version of their products. Better drives like new 3K Array? Better crossover? Just a style refresh?

So looks like mine are Mk2's
