US$7150. Go to the bottom of the page to "More Linn Speakers." Click on the 119s and go to the bottom of that page.

My dealer's getting a pair. Even though I'm not in the market for them, are going to let me demo them. Probably with a Selekt Organik passive front.
Will be very interesting.

Freq Response listed as 38Hz. That's a huge difference from the 140s. My Super20s are 35.
In fact, being downfiring, they seem very similar to the Super20s. I wonder if they got some cues from Kudos, taking customers away... 🤔

Linn is getting revenge! Kudos with their speakers somehow helped Linn sell Exakt but now with the Sigao drive Linn felt betrayed...and now : :smt064

And just for your entertainment, the list price in Japan:

¥1,485,000 (with tax), or ¥1,350,000 (without tax). Without tax, that's the equivalent of about $9,500 (USD) at today's exchange rate.

You pay quite a premium to live in Japan. The US price of $7150 is without tax. In Seattle the sales tax rate is 10%. So $7865 with. In Vancouver, it's 12%. Don't know the Canada price.

I once wrote to Gilad to complain about the Japan premium charged by Linn. Oddly enough I didn’t receive a response.

Isn’t it a tariff imposed by Japan?

It's my understanding that Linn Japan is a separate company from Linn. I have no idea the business arrangement between Linn and Linn Japan. But I imagine that Gilad didn't respond as he may not have control over the prices in Japan, perhaps only infuence.

P.S. In general, I believe Japan is a low tariff country.

My dealer is getting a pair of 150s in soon, hopefully the first week of October? It would be great to do a A:B test vs a pair of M140’s.

Speaker cabinet design is a very personal choice. I still prefer traditional cabinets in a quality wood veneer. Just about every Wilson speaker is a non starter for me because I just don’t like the modern cabinet designs. I also dislike piano black, shiny plastic epoxy, etc, etc. Just my preference.

I had been curious about getting a pair of Kudos 606s but there is no longer a single dealer in N. America that carries Kudos speakers. Getting a pair shipped from the UK would add way to much to the budget.

My all Linn system is based on Utopia powered ExaktBox so 150s are the obvious choice for upgrading from my M140s. I am quite happy with the sound but there is always that itch, right?

The obviuis question is how much better would 150s be in my system? At almost 2X the cost of new M140s are they 2X better in terms of sound quality? Is this worth doing if the improvement is like 1.5X? Is hoping for 3X just wishful thinking?

I wrote to them about a month ago and learned this:

“We are in talks with a couple of dealers in North America,”

Thanks, Michael.
Not to beat a dead horse, but I’m not aware of a tariff on audio components, although the easily accessible online information doesn’t expressly answer the question:

https://www.customs.go.jp/english/c-an ... 1204_e.htm

When I bought my current 242s, I paid a premium equivalent to over US$4,000 compared to the U.S. list price, but wanted the support of the local dealer and didn’t want to take on the risk and hassle of arranging my own shipment from the UK for such relatively large and heavy products. I sometimes buy my Linn electronics from overseas, given the price delta, to the annoyance of my dealer who then sometimes declines to support those products.

I know this is off-topic so will leave it at that.

I am very interested to read your feedback!
And better if you test it with the internal amplifier. I wonder if the internal amp is powerful enough for 86db/4 ohm

The aktiv setup is attractive too but so expensive with organik dac…

It will depend on what Selekt modules they have. Being an independent dealer they usually only have a Selekt few (pun intended).

Canadian price for the 150's is $9460.plus HST.

My dealer seems to thing that Kudos is trying to re-establish in NA. Worth the wait for the 606's but they are twice the price of the new 150's.

Ok thanks for clarifying, pricing in North America is posted pre-tax.

At their CAD price with federal and provincial taxes factored in, the 150s would cost us £6,017 when expressed in GBP.

I have been reading about a new USA dealer for Kudos for some time now. There was a single dealer in the Chicago area that carried Kudos but they dropped the brand to concentrate on other European brands.

I don’t think Kudos has much name recognition in the USA outside of Naim and Linn fans who might be into active options?

I don’t think my dealer (one of the main Linn dealers in N. America) will ever carry Kudos so for me it will be impossible to compare the Kudos 606 Vs Linn 150s…

I took a leap of faith with a pair of T606's I found at a dealer in B.C a few months back. They were the last of the demo's. Glad I did cause they are spectacular compared to the M140's I loved for 9 years.
