Anyway, for my last afternoon I walked the streets of Kowloon. So many sights to see and areas of interest. This was taken in the Goldfish Market area:

Bagged and ready to go to their new owners/homes!
Image

I took a cab back to the airport and I was amused by the number of mobile phones the driver had on the go!!
Image

All in all, a good trip.

I'll post later on where I am ATM.

After barely a week in the UK I was travelling again. For many, this skyline is unmistakable Manhattan. With the Freedom Tower in the center of the shot and the Empire State Building to the far right.

Image

My first client lives in Lower Manhattan, near the Williamsburg Bridge over the East River:

As per normal, it's essential to carry all the spare parts I might need, so here's the build and then the finished article; A wonderful Radikal, Aro LP12.

Image

What a view!

Later in the day, having some time before my next appointment, I had a walk around lower Manhattan, along East Broadway to the Brooklyn Bridge: The Freedom Tower was often in view:

From the Brooklyn Bridge there's a great view of the Lower Manhattan skyline:

But also a great view of the Midtown skyline with such iconic buildings such as the Empire State and also the Chrysler Building:

I then headed to Penn Station to get a train to Long Island.

More pictures soon.

Yes, it's certainly an interesting place and in the main I've always found it a place populated by friendly and helpful people. Lot's to see if you have the time, opportunity and IMHO a travelling companion who you can sightsee with.

Me, I was travelling by myself and this was brought into sharp focus when I tripped and fell on an uneven sidewalk, twisting my right ankle in the process. All of a sudden, being by oneself was not so good! Fortunately, the damage was not too severe but even a week on, my right ankle is still swolen, being about 30% bigger than my left.

I hobbled on and took the pictures on the Brooklyn Bridge you see above and gradually my limp subsided. Later in the day, I had to walk 5 blocks in the rush hour dragging my two suitcases and traverse Penn Station en route to Long Island where my next client lives. The following day, I did the same thing at Grand Central Station, now en route to Pound Ridge taking a train to Mt Kisko and my final client. One could certainly describe this as character building! Both stations were packed and there were many post-election sombre faces as these were strongly Democrat towns I was visiting!!

Anyway, I was fitting an Aro Keel and a Radikal on Long Island and my client had ordered a plinth from Chris Harban. Indeed Chris had sent him two, so as he could choose once seeing them at home and in context - Nice one Chris 8)

Here they are:
Image
Both nning and also both very different!

After much consideration, the Cocobolo was chosen over the Snakewood and this was my preference too.

Sometimes, I don't travel very far to look after clients. I looked after this last week.............. Only 20 miles each way this time, so it was possible to arrange an evening installation.

Here's a nice DBL active system you may have seen pictures of before. This time I finally added the last NAP500 along with a new DR Supercap to feed the SNAXO. The DV XX2/2 had been played out and so this time we opted for a DV TKR.

It sounded just fantastic. So live! 8)

Yes, sorry about that Jazz, I was really pushed to find time whilst away this time and I've returned to the UK with pretty full days and evenings for the next couple of weeks, not that I'm complaining.......but anyway, here goes while I have the effects of jet lag and waking up early :mrg: :

Well, with several hundred photos, where does one start!

Maybe I should start with my work :D I looked after four LP12s in Singapore. It was good to see that none of them had drifted at all in the 2 1/2 years since my last visit. Each ended up with a Tranquility following a demonstration and I installed a few other items including things like Krystals and Klimax Radikals. Here are pictures of two of the decks I worked on:

Both Harban plinths, one a beautiful Ebony and the other a rare Japanese Cherry, Aro, Keel, Tiger Paw Khan, Klimax Radikal/Urika now and both Aro tops show are using Krystals.

Naturally, I factored in some time for enjoyment and exploration between set-ups.... It just has to be done and anyone visiting SE Asia, Australia or NZ really ought to check out Singapore, it's a fantastic place, so much to see and do and the people are so very friendly and helpful.

I managed quite allot in the five days there and a few pictures follow of the kinds of things one can see and do:

Here's a couple of pictures from the Gardens and Marina Bay Sands looking towards the sea:

Looking back towards the City (financial area and docks) to the left:

And the to the right, some of the Fi Circuit and down the coast off to the east and towards Changi Airport in the far distance:

More later when time allows.

Chris,
I saw my first ever basking shark in Poole harbour in 1975.
Its changed a lot since then and doubt if you would see them there now.

I've not seen a basking shark but dolphins are sighted quite frequently in the summer :)

One of my house mates in London father had a 40ft yacht parked in the then Poole marina.
Loads of us went down for a long weekend on it.
Thing was he didn't attach the outboard motor on properly and when it was put into reverse it fell off and sunk.
So we stayed in the harbour all weekend.
It wasn't funny for him and his sister when they had to explain what had happened to there mother and father. :smt036
