Peter's travels
Looking good
What are the differences on the LP12s other than the cartridges? The top plates look possibly black Karmen and a Khan (or possibly different colour Karmens?) or am I off track?
Presumably the Kandid deck has a Urika and the DV deck doesn't?

Wouldn't mind one of those...
Surprised that the Radikal is not a Klimax one, but maybe that is on the to do list?!

Thanks Pedantik
I did the demo of the Klimax Radikal vs Akurate and was not entirely convinced that it was the best way to spend my cash.
On the other hand, the Music IC was a no brainer ..

Anyone suffering from vertigo may wish to skip this post!
The view from the Sears (now Willis) Tower:
Looking at one's feet and down below from a glass box on the side of the Willis Tower:
The view from the John Hancock Building 360 Observation deck:
The Tilt at the 360 Observatory - Yes the window is hydraulically lent out to about 40 degrees! - Many stepped back, I loved it
And finally, I was lucky enough to check the flight progress screen en route to Houston and realized we were flying over this great city.

Great pictures Peter! The second one unfortunately makes me think of WTC in NY. I guess that is the view the jumpers had before taking the leap. Poor sods!

Re: Peters travels
Thank you Jim for your kind words and I'll be heading down south to Dorset this Saturday (a village near Blandford Forum) with a Cherry/Black Fraim to install for my client, just to ensure he get's the best sounds possible from it's addition to his system. Pictures of the system hopefully to follow soon and certainly the beautiful area that is the border between Wiltshire and Dorset.

I did some work in KL a few years ago and stayed in the hotel right next to the towers (I think it's the building hiding behind the trees) in the first picture. I was saddened by the trip. Only a few miles outside KL city and I got to see the poverty - such a stark contrast with the wealth in the city.
I have to say that being there for just over 48 hours, I didn't have much chance to see life outside the city and to and from the airport. However, one of the fantastic things about seeing clients in their own back yards so to speak is that they know all the great places to go and we enjoyed some fantastic Malaysian cuisine at both ends of the spectrum. We enjoyed fish head curry at a street restaurant near the KL Tower - really good!
We also enjoyed a fantastic meal at a huge fish restaurant outside the main city in Petaling Jaya. Suffice to say, we were really well looked after
Yes, most visitors go to the bridge between the two towers, however there is also a viewing right near to the top of one of the towers as you can see, very high up and probably the second highest viewing area next to the Burj.
Watching the thunderstorms roll in from 40 miles or so, lightening, rain and all was really awesome.

Peter,
Don't mind sharing your earlier posting..
Just browsing and saw the fish head curry!!
Anyway, we were lucky, after you'd left, it was all day cloudy, raining and thunderstorms. I am hoping on your next visit, we can check out other places as well as eating the king of fruits, "durian" if you like it.
Cheers,
Nasa

Hi Scubnasa,
Well, fingers crossed it looks like a visit in September/October is likely as I have several clients needing help in your part of the world and beyond, so a stop-off is becoming even more viable/likely.
Durian... I have tried it in Singapore as i will try anything. However, once was enough I feel

Re: Peters travels
Ok as some of you who do Facebook may have seen, I've been in Cincinnati looking after my client who has three LP12 and I'm upgrading two with a view for him to sell on the third - I flew out earlier landed at Newark and now I'm sitting in the food hall at Grand Central ATM and have 20 minutes, so here goes!
I had three LP12s to work on and re-configure/re-build. Two for the client to use and one for onward sale of the remaining parts - No waste here! Quite a busy kitchen as you can see
The beautiful Woodsong plinth is the No 1 deck and now has a Radikal/Urika and Krystal as additions following my trip.
Here, now installed within the Naim system
The room is actually quite dimly lit and so the finish of the plinth really works nicely.
And in close-up:
More pictures of the Majik LP12 I converted to Akurate when I've finished my train journey north west!

Re: Peters travels
Ok, so the above is a duplicate of my Show me your LP12 posts on here and the Blue place - Here's a few places things that I've visited/seen so far - Only here ....................:
Before Cincinnati, I was in Manhattan sightseeing and meeting up with one client for dinner .
The Rockefeller Center and up top the Top of the Rock viewing area - A must do if you visit IMHO https://www.topoftherocknyc.com/
The views are just nning and you really are at the top of the Rock if you take the stairs to the 3rd level and not even a pane of glass to obscure the view!
Looking over Central Park - I walked to the top and then back again and then on down through Manhattan to the Brooklyn Bridge - Covered a whisker under 40Km walking according to my Fitbit
Nothing to say other than WOW what a view!
And sometime later: - Very lucky with the weather for sure as showers were forcast........
The following morning I was on the plane to Cincinnati.....
